The mountains vanished into white, the road got swallowed by the night, the river paid in dust and gold, for us I bore that weight through cold.
One match became my only sun, it burned like I had already won.
Then darkness came and stole the glow, but something in me still said go.

The winter raced the tracks behind, the snow came down and left me blind, each step sank deeper than before, I couldn't feel my hands no more.
The northern wind came cold, it brought a warning never told, I threw on my coat and crossed the floor, I couldn't sit and wait no more.
